A horrendous crime was recorded on the morning of Thursday (12) in the city of Dias D’Ávila, in the metropolitan region of Salvador, Bahia state. An elderly woman was going to throw out the rubbish when she was the victim of an attempted rape. The woman attempted to fight back, leading to the suspect to assault her with sticks, killing her.
A garrison went to the scene, and found the mostly-naked suspect, who had been hogtied by furious citizens. He was detained. Locals said he was a drug abuser with mental health issues.
