The family traveled to spend the New Year holiday in another town, not imagining that the holiday would end up becoming the worst nightmare.
Just when they were about to return to Quito, 13 year old J. S. R. climbed up to the roof of the building to grab a drink (WTF) when he suddenly fell into a void, just as his father was getting the vehicle ready to embark on the trip.
The boy was taken to a hospital but his death was later confirmed.
According to the relatives, the child had no problems with depression nor was he a victim of harassment, so it is dismissed that he had taken his own life, however the authorities are investigating the angle. The boys remains were buried Wednesday.
