I guess I can understand wanting to be with your friends and family around the holiday season. However, I’m not sure if breaking “INTO” jail is the best way to go about doing it.
According to WPBF 25 News authorities in Indian River County, Florida, arrested Patrick Rempe after he allegedly tried to break into the county jail by ramming his car into the front door.
When the front door which is made from reinforced steel and concrete was too much for his tiny car to handle. He decided to try his luck ramming the fence, when that failed also he tried to jump the fence, which as you can see in the image below, is topped with razor wire.
Patrick Rempe was easily apprehended while being tangled up in the razor wire fence.
Rempe was taken into custody and treated for minor injuries.
Police said Rempe told them he was high on the synthetic drug flakka and just wanted to “visit friends who were in the jail,” according to WPBF TV.
Sheriff’s department officials estimate the damage caused by Patrick Rempe to be at least $5,000.
The charges Patrick Rempe now faces are…
- Aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer
- Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer
- Three counts of felony criminal mischief
- Leaving the scene of a crash with property damage
- Driving under the influence
Rempe is held without bond which, he may not mind, since it gives him plenty of time to reconnect with old friends. As long as he’s placed in the same pod as his incarcerated pals. It would be a shame if he wasn’t.
